Cee Neuner was a blogger and friend to many of us here on WordPress.
Her photography challenges were legendary. When she first started all her challenges, Cee would select winners each week. Someone one asked Cee how she kept track of everything and she responded, “I keep an Excel spreadsheet.” While I struggled with pingbacks, which Cee eventually helped me with, Cee was keeping spreadsheets.
In honor of their joint birthdays, my blog buddy, Dan asked those of us who followed Cee to post a photo of either a flower for her Flower of the Day posts or a black and white photo for her Black and White Photo Challenge.
In July 2016 for Cee’s Black and White Challenge: In the Distance, Cee commented on my photo, “You won my heart with the camera and tripod being the stars of the photo.”
In November 2015 for Cee’s Black and White Challenge: Anything That Flies, Cee commented on my osprey photo, “Lois, your timing on this photo was perfect.”
That was Cee. Always a positive comment. Always encouraging each and every one of us who participated in her challenges.
Dan, Happy Birthday.
Cee, you are gone but not forgotten.

These images are both fabulous Lois and such a lovely tribute to Cee 🫶💖✨️ xxx

Lois, I didn’t follow Cee, but thanks to you and Dan I am aware of her challenges on your posts and loved them. It’s clear from you and Dan that a lovely soul has left this earth. May your friend rest in peace.

Cee was the best, Ginger. To a new blogger like me who had not a clue what she was doing, Cee was the most wonderful person to help me along. She sent out a ‘good-bye’ post when it was becoming too difficult to post anymore and I about cried. We all lost a great friend in Cee.

Fabulous photos and memories Lois. I had forgotten about those spreadsheets

Oh gosh, Brian–I about fell over when she said spreadsheets. I could barely send out a post and she had spreadsheets?! That blew me away.

The early days of blogging with photos and doing challenges was very head scratching. My most difficult thing was linking my post to the challenge until Cee showed me how

Yes! Me, too. Cee showed me, also. Whew. Difficult was the word. One blogger chastised me for linking my entire post. But I didn’t know!!

Beautiful, evocative images, Lois, and beautiful tribute too. Cee was obviously someone who did good with her life, and that’s to be celebrated for sure. The Bad is often loud while the Good is quiet so we have to be careful to document that quiet Good. “Not forgotten” — indeed.

Cee was awesome, Maureen. A friend to everyone. She wanted us to do better and gave us every opportunity to do so with all her challenges and her guidance. I love that Dan set up this birthday present for her.

I didn’t often do Cee’s challenges, but I remember how very kind she was.
I love that she used spreadsheets; I use them, but not for WordPress. I do, however, have a table created with MS Word, which is a timetable for the entire year. Not that I work a year in advance, but our names and the dates are filled in, and with a blank cell for the prompt word so that Gerry knows which are his dates, should he wish to become organised!

Ha! An organized man–dream on, Sue! Cee was so helpful. You could ask her help with anything and she was right there with you. It was awful all the health struggles she had. This was such a great idea of Dan’s to honor her on her birthday.

Those are both lovely photos, Lois. Cee’s encouraging comments made such an impact. I loved the way she managed her challenges, and I learned a lot from her. She made it look easy, managing so many, while I often struggle with the one of hers I’ve taken on. I’m sure she is looking down and nodding with the memory of these two photos.

This was such a wonderful idea, Dan, and I was more than happy to participate. Cee helped me so much. Dumb questions that I had and she was always, ‘No, no. It’s not a dumb question at all. This is how you do it…’
So many people participating…see all the different photos is fantastic.
Happy Birthday to you, Dan! I hope you have a wonderful day–and weekend. Birthday falls on a Friday means it actually goes through to Monday. 😂😉

I didn’t know the birthday extension rule, Lois. Thanks for that and your wishes. The posts in response to this challenge have been wonderful. So much love for Cee, on display around the world. That’s the kind of difference she made. She touched our lives in a good way.

This was a great idea that Dan had. Thanks, Carol. I told him a Friday birthday, by the rules, must be celebrated all weekend. I hope his wife was advised…

Did Cee die or just stop blogging? I love black-and-white photography. I used to develop my own black-and-white film.
